    Re: Tariff on NZ. Lamb.

Apologies Mr Caley, I did not intend the scenario to be taken as a slight against NZ, at the end of the day they took advantage of a situation which they had no hand in creating and used it to...

    Re: Tariff on NZ. Lamb.

The influx of huge amounts of tariff free produce from NZ is actually a legacy of the time when France had a disproportionately high amount of sway within the EU. It's all tied in with the Rainbow...

    Re: Fendt electric tractor

Probably more a development in amenity/groundcare than agriculture "per se" I think.

Son is a greenkeeper and the use of both hybrid and fully electric greens mowers is becoming increasingly...

    Re: Sheep on cattle slats?

Yes I think this is probably the way we'll end up doing it. Fortunately they're eight foot slats as well, the only ones about the place, so no cutting of sheets should be necessary.

    Re: JCB 3CX - 1986 Wont Start

I had an 87 grey cab which was an absolute pig to start after being run dry.

Filters had been changed, connections secured to cut-off solenoid, new filters, etc, etc. Run 100%, just a total...

    Sheep on cattle slats?

We have a cattle collecting yard that we'd like to use for sheep occasionally. Problem being, for scraping out, it has a slated slurry tank running across the middle of it.

    Needs to retain a...

Re: Rear Wheel Spacer for Kubota L3200

The whole thing could be done on a laser cutter in a few minutes.

You could save a few quid by making a simple line diagram and taking it to them. Inner diameter, outer diameter, diameter of the...

    Re: SWATHE CONDITIONERS

OK, admittedly never used one but I struggle to see their value, possibly unless your mower or the persons doing it for you hasn't a conditioner on it.

Cut when dry, nice wide fluffy row out the...

Re: Buying land to protect view/privacy

I know some farmers who'd jump at the chance, I know some who wouldn't even speak to you.

Firstly, as above, don't sell yourself out. Commencing at 10-15k/acre is entirely fair and reasonable,...

Re: Never rip off a raven!

That's not principled, that's just vindictive!

If she'd offered him the keys to Number 11 again and he'd refused on the basis of past treatment, that would have been principled!

    Re: slip clutch on topper

When your pto is engaged you have a continuous drive from the crankshaft of the engine right through to the blades of the topper.

If the blades of the topper hit something solid then the resultant...

    Re: 10000 Tractor recommendations

ME series Kubota would do your job well. Very simple, very reliable, very handy tractors to use about the place, and you'll usually get lower hours and newer for same money as NH, Case, etc.

Don't think that was a specific model sold in the UK so I'd have to speak in more general terms, but most of the Kubota stuff I've seen/owned/used/worked at, has all followed a similar pattern so it...
