Re: how to tell 3000 series mf is 40K?

3120 and 3125 were sold at the same time. The 3125 has the same back axle as the later 6180 and is still current on 6480 and 6618. The cab on the 3125 is mounted higher as well.

    However, very...

    Re: WESTMAC BELAIR STRAW BEDDER/FEEDER

Let's hope it remains crackless! It may look heavily built but it is a pain in the arse machine. The floor is a very weak point and prone to bend, for a start. A good dealer with experience of these...
  3. Re: Can u retrofit a block cutter with a plastic and net catching mechanism?

I doubt it. Shear grab blades are not usually strong enough to cut bales. Also the plumbing and engineering needed would stretch the best of engineers, even, I suspect, if they had a template to copy...

    Re: BEWARE. Taxing a vehicle.

Someone must have set up a direct debit for your account. It isn't and can't be simply a tick box, surely? You need your bank account details to start with. You should also have available a copy of...

    Re: Dyna6 40k change to 50k

The factory 50k tractors have a different final drive and slightly different brakes, because both 40 and 50k tractors have restricted revs in top gear.
The way to make a 40k tractor faster is to get...

Re: the history of silage machines?

    Was it really that wide?

I remember the first harvester here, bought about 1970, a MF side mounted machine with the trailer mounted on the tractor's pickup hitch. It was around 36" wide and...

    Re: docks and pastor

I've done another 35 acres today. about 20 with the remaining Doxstar I had in stock, then with Starane at 2l/hectare. The rest for chickweed using Starane at 1 litre.

    Dread to think what...

    Re: docks and pastor

I've sprayed maybe a bit more than 100 acres for docks this year. My preferred poison is Forefront but is not currently economically viable in my opinion, despite its efficacy.
    I used Doxstar and...

    Re: Massey Ferguson 5612??

Make sure you have an appropriate counterweight on the links. You don't want it ending up on its side.
  12. Re: Can You Spread Powdered Lime From Fertiliser Spreader?

I once spread about 20 tons with a Vicon varispreader and it wore a fairly new spout and band completely out. Yes, you can spread with many machines as long as they have an anti-bridging agitator....

    Re: Windows 10

You can apparently download either 16 or 32 bit versions or both to a USB memory stick or a DVD so that you can install on several computers off the one download.

    I have three W7 machines,...

Re: mf 5455 front axle pivot

1800 hours of loader work with regular greasing should result in near zero wear, but this doesn't sound compatible with a thoroughly blocked grease nipple.

I have a very similarly designed front...

Re: mf 5455 front axle pivot

Sounds like it has quite a bit of wear in the bearings. I think there should be grooves in the bushing to carry the grease around and up to where its most needed. Check the amount of vertical play in...

Re: mf 5455 front axle pivot

Grease every 50 hours and you will never have such a problem. Ideally, as said, lift the front off the round and let the axle hang while you pump. Easy with a loader fitted. Few people bother anyway.
  20. Re: MF4345 Cab door ram - any alternative supply to OE price?

That's what I'd do. Certainly wouldn't change the second, perfectly good one. Either you penny-pinch or you don't. I'd prefer to pay 25 for one than !8 each for two, if you can even find them that...
