    Check the alternator. I think the rev counter is fed from it, so see if the wires are all connected.

    check the spool-valves work ok. if they're electric be careful as when they go wrong (as they will) its about 1000 per slice to replace and the new slice has to be programmed to the tractor. also...

    I use 1000e on the flail topper 2.8m and once used it to drive a JF 1050 chopper on a very light 2nd cut, the staying power of the Deutz engine can cope doing this at 1600rpm.
    Tested on dyno 146hp...

    mowers are easier to drive at 1000rpm I drive a 10ft trailed mower with 1000e, but I do have a Deutz which is a 4 speed pto.:)
