Re: A bit more help please ? MF 135

It was so useful that I am a bit embarrassed right now. :o I hadn't thought that it might be the lift pump or the heater plug that is allowing diesel into the timing cover. But it is leaking from...

Itís only ever been used as a runabout really. Bit of Haybobbing, spud planting, would just about manage a 5tn grain trailer. But they would run on fresh air. Very economical.

Re: A bit more help please ? MF 135

Thank you yet again for your help. I'll get the pump off when I have a bit of time and see what it looks like. The tractor has about 5k hours on it and is 52 years old so the pump probably wouldn't...

Re: A bit more help please ? MF 135

Thanks again Agrimax. That makes sense. I like the idea of stuffing a piece of rag in there to stop the pump gear from moving onto different teeth and also for stopping a bolt from dropping down into...

Re: A bit more help please ? MF 135

Thank you for the correction Agrimax. I have edited my original post and thank you also for the instructions. I assume that I take the pump off the flange and then take the 3 bolts out that hold the...

A bit more help please ? MF 135

This time it's an MF135. 1967 with a bent axle and 3A-152 engine. I have got diesel coming out from behind the crankshaft pulley and I assume that it is coming out of the front of the injector pump...

    Re: Boris

And so who are you accusing me of implying that they were either stupid or not impostant ? I was delivering facts. Deal with it !
  13. Re: A bit of a long shot but thought I would ask anyway.............

Thanks for that and I might just try it on a scrap blade but in the meantime I thought I would try this : ...

  15. Re: A bit of a long shot but thought I would ask anyway.............

She brought me my customary cup of tea and ice cream the other day about 5 minutes after it happened and she knew immediately what was expected of her but she could not locate it either. You just...
  16. Re: A bit of a long shot but thought I would ask anyway.............

Yes, I've got a couple of those blades suitably sharpened at one end and with Gorilla Tape round the other. Not quite sure what HSE would have to say about them though. Good job they don't know where...
  17. Re: A bit of a long shot but thought I would ask anyway.............

You sure know how to hit a man when he's down Jack. I had such high hopes of formulating a way for the creation of holes in the hacksaw blades. I had practically got the Patents applied for. It was...
  18. Re: A bit of a long shot but thought I would ask anyway.............

Thanks for the encouragement John but while you may be correct in saying that the punch is not lost I did hear a strange "thud" sort of sound when it flew and I think it may have hit a nearby...
  19. Re: A bit of a long shot but thought I would ask anyway.............

Back to the topic if I may and an update !

I thought that I would just try drilling a hole in a chunk of metal and seeing if I could actually punch a hole through an old scrap blade before I...
  20. Re: A bit of a long shot but thought I would ask anyway.............

Looks like rain tomorrow but another more important job has cropped up. I'll report back with any results when I get them though.
  21. Re: A bit of a long shot but thought I would ask anyway.............

Thanks FF but we don't give in as easy as that. But I've been thinking (dangerous - very dangerous) When I tried before by getting a blade red hot I just used the cutting oxy-acet torch but didn't...
  22. Re: A bit of a long shot but thought I would ask anyway.............

I reckon he's waiting in the wings and when I come back and tell everyone that I really screwed up and cream-crackered half a dozen blades trying to put a hole in them and that I'm never ever going...
  23. Re: A bit of a long shot but thought I would ask anyway.............

No. Because I don't have access to one of those.
  24. Re: A bit of a long shot but thought I would ask anyway.............

I thought that I would just mark the edge of the blade with a nick from an angle grinder where I want the hole to be because I won't be able to see any other marks when it's red hot. It doesn't have...
  25. Re: A bit of a long shot but thought I would ask anyway.............

Yes, when I get round to it but it aint gonna be pretty. :o
