    Re: Irish cows

    Good to see that Boris is coming over for a visit to Dublin, at least it shows that he realizes that Brexit will affect Ireland more than the rest of what is left of the EU.

    Jack
    it's an interesting conundrum, one proposal we heard this side of the pond is that the whole island of Ireland will be one as far as food production/exports/imports is concerned. However I...

    Anybody want a few cheap N. Ireland calves?

    Looks like we might need an alternative route to get Irish beef into the UK. Would anybody fancy some cheap calves?

    It's a bit tongue in cheek, but I'm just curious as to what way things will pan...

    Our problems are;
    1.Is the (Hard) border with N. Ireland coming back? At present we can just drive across and the first thing we notice is road signs are in miles not kms!

    I just bought a Ransomes TSR 109 plough. It was originally 5 bodies, 3+1+1, currently there are 4 UCN bodies. I'm thinking of going down to 3 bodies, we've had a lot of rain here. Has anyone on here...

    Re: Feeding bulls

    We're still ok this side of the Irish sea, but our beef is a bit like EU's safety valve so prices here are a little bit more, how shall I put it, 'buoyant' than the UK. It's a tricky job to master...

    Re: Bull Beef - The end of the road?

    I agree with this statement 100%. It is a race to the bottom, grass fed steer beef is a luxury food that the average consumer cannot afford to pay for anymore. Having said that, my wife bought a beef...

  17. Re: When Shold You Use The 1000RPM Setting On The PTO?

    I do this as well, but use 540 when spreading. No problems so far anyway. I can see where owner driver is an advantage though. It's a MEC/hertl 8000L pump and fiat 110-90 tractor.

    Apologies for bringing up an old thread, thinking of doing some spring barley. Any updates for this, are the people who used it last year doing it again, and how did cattle perform? Thanks.
