Re: Farm Assurance, what's the point?

All very well making a fuss, but agriculture is considerably less inspected than most other industries. Also, its your customers who are inspecting you. If you dont want them as customers then dont...

It will be a difficult day, but afterwards you might appreciate being able to enjoy your time away from the farm.

My old boss said it was the best thing he ever did, but seeing the yards empty...

Well Ive just laid some money behind the No vote. Not a great return, but its free money after all. Really cant see the Yes side winning now all the weight has been thrown behind the No side.

Oh we're not. Not by a long way. If it was an open vote a lot of English people would vote for you to leave. It'll be a complete disaster for all the reasons which have already been mentioned, but...

Yes and no. Bikes are quicker to accelerate, quicker to brake, and require smaller gaps to fit through than a car. Car drivers can sometimes fail to appreciate this and think we're being reckless...

Re: towing trailer without trailer licence??

Well you need to read otherwise then. No distinction in the licencing rules between commercial and leisure towing. Hence why all the 20 year old girls do it so they can tow a horsebox around.

No. Its one of the oddities of the law that 3 months after passing my car test I was driving tractors with 40ft articulated bale trailers behind, and yet 8 years later Im still not allowed to tow...

    Re: Moisture claim or drying

Most mills will accept wheat up to 16%. Between 15 and 16 you cant dry it for the cost of the claim.

Remember you get water weight, so at 1.50/half percent, at 16% you get a further 1% of the...

Is it not because Russia buy a lot of diggers/excavators/dumpers etc?? Big mining and industrial economy?

I suspect they sell far more out there than parts they buy from Russia.

    Re: Cereals price tracker

Maybe, but its somewhat technical and the same reasons its gone up could end up pushing it down in the mid/longer term.

Re: Whole crop or cereal harvest

Depends very much on how you value the weed control. If you could find someone willing to take blackgrass infested crops then it would be a good way of clearing the field.

Depends on the size of the trailer. Up to 750kg braked, or < the weight of the car providing the MAM of both is less than 3.5t and you're okay by yourself anyway.
