  1. Re: Stupid question but.............................

Hmm... I wonder if there was sufficient static charge on the cellophane to cause the power switch i.c. to trigger.

    Re: Matbro TS 280 Transmission

Maybe there's is just enough restriction to the fuel supply to prevent full flow under load.

I'm guessing, of course, but a separate supply direct to the new fuel filters would help to isolate the...

    Re: Matbro TS 280 Transmission

Supply the fuel system from a clean container as a test.

If the engine runs ok, clean the tank.

    I speak from experience! :o

    Re: MF 6480 spool repair

Both the 4225 connectors (not the levers) have the selectors you mention, and one of the two levers has the 4 positions you mention. I can't see that being any help to you, but I thought I'd mention...

    Re: MF 6480 spool repair

I hesitate to display my lack of knowledge, but my MF4225 can have the levers work either double acting cylinders or single acting rams. It occurs to me that I had it incorrectly set at one stage,...

I'm curious about the tyres on the tractor in the pic. Are they especially made for pulling?

    Bitcoin's energy consumption

I'd always suspected it would be high, not from mining as this article claims, but as a result of the storage of each Blockchain entry. If you accept that CO2, is a problem, then Bitcoin is also.

Re: Massey Ferguson baler in haylage?

I've never seen wrapped small bales here, but I imagine they would be a pain to handle - and use a lot of plastic for the volume of hay stored.

Many, many moons ago, I experimented with a...

  18. Weird MF168 hydraulics: ff was right!

To recap: Venerable MF168 Multipower, total hours unknown, suddenly developed a weird hydraulics problem. On a cold start, the auxiliary pump supplying the externals would make a nasty noise. The...

    Re: MF4225 hydraulics question

Thanks for the info, Agrimax. I was hoping it would be for "constant pumping " so I could attach the backhoe. The venerable MF168 needs the hydraulic pump strainer cleaned, apparently, and that might...

    MF4225 hydraulics question

There are two external circuits on this tractor. The inside lever (connections 1& 2, from memory) has three positions: up; hold; down.

  24. Re: Massey Ferguson 35 Fuel Injection Pump Issue

Re: MF168: sudden linkage hydraulics failure

To continue the story: I'd discounted ff's proposition that the inlet screen (for both the lift and auxiliary pumps) was blocked, coz the loader supplied by the aux. pump worked as normal. Instead,...
