    Just bin the lift pump. If you were to waste time and open up the diaphragm then at that age it will be well stretched instead of fairly flat, putting just a diaphragm in is a waste of money given...

    Having a plasma cutter, it think that sounds the best/easiest answer, as long as the hole is close height wise so the blade runs fairly level, the quality of it is irrelevant...
