    Re: JCB 3CX 1986 Overheating

Which side of the radiator did you check ? Remember it is probably a pusher fan, i.e. it doesn't suck air in from the front, it sucks it in from the back and pushes it out the front of the radiator....

Re: Changing from poly to sisal.

Didn't know that. Thanks WRSNI. There was one problem with a fan on the knotters of a 701. Most of the sledges in those days were manned. And if you were the unfortunate chap riding one all the crap...

    Re: Arc welding cast ?

I hope the job works out O.K. Payment is tomorrow night in the pub. The repair came with a concrete guarantee. I told him that the guarantee lasted while it was on the concrete in my yard. As soon as...

Re: Changing from poly to sisal.

Very little experience with Massey balers. I used a 10 or a 15 I think it was when I worked on a farm but when I started up on my own I needed to buy a mower and a baler. 45 for a s/h IH B23...

Re: Changing from poly to sisal.

You will find that sisal is easier on your hands than poly, especially if you're not used to handling many bales. I think rodents like it a bit more than poly so put plenty of food down for them. ;) ...

    Re: Arc welding cast ?

Thank you WRSNI for your advice. The job was for a friend of mine who has a loader on his 956 and he caught a tree branch and it came down the loader booms. :o I hadn't actually got any cast rods so...

    Re: Gee you have won!

If that were the only reason they got involved why didn't they just concentrate on the Japs then ? They lost far more men and women when fighting in Europe than they did in the Far East. The U.K....

    Re: Gee you have won!

Well Trump is Trump, Clinton was Clinton, etc. and we (and the population of the US) have to put up with that. But I will remind you all of this, which the younger generation by which I mean anyone...

    Re: Arc welding cast ?

Thanks BV, that is very helpful. Yes, I thought I'd have a look round for a bit of cast and have a go with that first. Might have a bit of cast downspout somewhere although that will be a fair bit...

    Arc welding cast ?

I have been asked by a friend if I can weld a cast bit of exhaust pipe. It's off an IH 956 I think and it's the bendy bit that fits onto the exhaust manifold. It's years since I welded cast iron and...
  12. Re: NOW YOUR SOLAR PANELS CAN CLEANED DAILY - AT MINIMAL COST.

We have solar panels. They don't produce electricity, they produce hot water. If we had wanted to produce electricty we would have installed PV panels ( I assume that you know the difference) So you...

Re: Changing from poly to sisal.

I used to run IH balers for contracting as well as at home. Up to the early B47s they would only run sisal but when poly became more popular because of the price differential they modified the...

    Re: Gee you have won!

No. Amputation of one hand (at first - more for a repeat offence) The only concession I would make is that it would be done under general anaesthetic in a surgical environment.

Yes, like a slap on the wrist and told to go away and not be such naughty people. I think we should impose Sharia law at that stage.
  25. Re: one for the db members, why have a db 990 got an A after it?
