  4. Re: Asking NH experts for NH TS115 rear axle advice

It's the inner bearing that is a press fit. Proper way is to press the shaft out with a fabricated tool. On a 8340 axle,I recall setting something on the floor, solid and long enough to reach up the...

Apart from brakes,or lack of,they're not a bad old tool. The brakes are hyd operated, dry shoes and drums. The auto adjusters inside sieze up and the brakes just don't work, but simple enough to remove...

Re: MF 135 - Injection pump.

Don't know what's involved in replacing the seal. Haven't been in that end of a DPA pump. Been under the lid and at the regulating valve etc but anything else and it's off to a specialist for me.

Re: MF 135 - Injection pump.

No mention of torque settings for those bolts in either MF or Perkins manuals. Thinking they are 1/4'' unf (can't remember for sure) and likely around 10-15 ft/lbs. I just nip them up tight and hope...

Re: MF 135 - Injection pump.

Might have mentioned it before, but stuff a piece of rag in between the gear and timing cover just in case a bolt drops out of the socket....
Remove bolts and remove pump. The gear won't drop enough...

    Re: MF168 head gasket

Yes,it does sound like a poor repair from before. As long as every thing is well cleaned up......I sometimes use a belt sander and fine emery or a DA sander and go lightly.Leaves a good job.Probably...

    Re: MF168 head gasket

Hi John. You're right about the liners. They're just dry sleeves. I'd think it's just a head gasket is required. A little water has likely gotten into a cylinder making it hard to turn over.... It...
