There but for the grace of God . In my youth I got hypnotised looking at dung coming out of a Howard sideflinger but a David brown 990 had not the weight to take a pole out of it .

    Here's another 'Oooops' .
It's not mine, although I have had that happen to me a year or two back, but not on the road.

    Re: Ooops

Would genuine KV points be best for ploughing tarmac or would spurious do?

I've snapped a telephone pole with the sprayer booms folded up.

Brother broke two while moving straw one dark (and foggy I add) night. Also managed to drag one pole and attached wires 100 yards down the road.

Of course, both telephone lines were below the legal minimum height............................................ .....................

I don't know, I've only nicked the picture from someone's face book. It might be Renwick.

    Re: Ooops

It looks like watertrough corner, only a man could hold a 390 flat out coming down the hill round that corner and up to Sickergill! Pity we didn't have beacons in those days.

I have made a better job on tarmac with spurious than some of my attempts with genuine in the field.

    Re: Ooops

The wires will still be attached to it at the top I'm guessing, although you can't see them.
Must have snapped near ground level and the tractor pushed it along a yr or two.

No, that's quite normal. When cars hit lamp posts on road sides they nearly always fall backwards.
