    1455 Extending mirrors

Who has fitted extending mirrors to a 1455xl? How did you do it as their are no bolt holes on cab pillars, Wasn't keen on welding brackets on unless I have to so open to suggestions.

you aint got no choice but to weld brackets to the cab frame, but you must be very carefull not to damage the glass, ive seen some xl cabs done ,some good some awfull, make a nice bracket , copy a maxxum one, and take your time . only weld a little at a time and keep cooling it out with a wet cloth. cover the windscreen with cardboard to avoid spatter damage . the do look the dogs bollocks when done right

Best way I have seen is to weld a piece of channel to each A-pillar, as John says little bit at a time and protect the glass and paint.
Then you drill and bolt the mirror arms to the channel!

thats the way, but maybe use a piece of folded steel to match the curves of the cab frame. all the maxxum brackets are the same , even MX or CX brackets would do to copy.
