    Remind me what this is.

It was a barn find and I wasn't sure what it was. It's a Mitchel Coleman. Something with Kale?
It's wasting outside and wants a home. Anyone want it?

Roots chopper? Or grain bruiser? Photo down inside the hopper would reveal the chopping mechanism

    For chopping/slicing fodder beet.

Terry Littleford, Telford Farm Machinery [now TFM] used to import a similar Dutch machine when he first started up in business.

"Root pulper" rings a bell. Used to be lots of similar machines around when every small livestock farmer used to grow root crops for stockfeed.

I'm a bit disappointed - thought on first glance it may be a pheasant plucker - it would probably do more than that though

It goes at a fair old speed. Any roots/brassica based crop will be well and truly pulped!

Contemplate what wuld happen if this thing was working, and a child, say, threw a piece of timber in.?

Twas better that it be interred safely. (I have the scars still from pushing a mangold into a hand powered version).
