Very surprised you haven't had that shed galvanised. Considering the cost it's a no-brainer really IMHO.

I was thinking that you have left it a bit late to start a new shed, but by the amount of work that has been done in one day I think you will be OK

Thanks for the photos. It's always interesting to see a shed going up.

Are you leaving the gap between the sheets at the apex of your shed, for ventilation?

Well it's a open protected ridge the gaps 300mm so should be enough ventilation.

The cows will probably be absolute sods at refusing to use the new ones

we thought that putting them in to cubicles after a year being loose houses on straw, but they were fine.

The protected ridge is interesting. What's the cost and is their much reduction on ventilation over leaving the ridge open? Our main shed just has the open ridge with angled fibre cement profiles at each side and a lot of rain comes in.

It cost about 600 for a 100 ft length. It should be the same if the gaps are the same. See pic above.

Re: The start of our new cubicle shed.

We ditched ridging on all our new sheds over the past few years and just left a gap. We are in one of the wettest areas in the UK and thought this could be a problem.

It turns out it was the best decision. It could bucket down as hard as it likes and the cubicles below are untouched. Sheds look nicer without ridging than having ugly ridging like in the photo above.
