    Defender v Dodge Ram

Not sure if the pickup only has rear wheel drive?
In any case a clear winner.

The Ram owner is a member on here although he hasn't posted since the big hacking issue. Maybe he'll be along to explain!!

+1. Having seen a ram pull a artic with a claas chopper on a low loader for 10 or so miles to a garage, they can pull.

In my experience, stopping them is a different story

Probably needed a ton of something on the pickup bed to give it chance.

Ah the good old Defender apparently nothing else can drive, tow or off road like one....

Bollox!!! if that was the case how the heck do the Germans, Americans or Australians manage anything? F150, Ram, Jeep, G wagen, Landcruiser can all do what the Disco and Defender can.

And in more comfort. The one at work is like being kicked in the spine on even the smoothest of roads!

....reliability? Anyone want to talk about the Pumas? What a load of rubbish. Just when you think LR has sunk to it's lowest reliability ebb, they just get worse - engine failures due to poor oil injector design, diff failues due to weak metal and factory misaligned pinions, transfer case issues, gearbox issues and the list goes on and on and on. Oh and don't mention the current crop of Rangies and Discos with chronic air con failures to name but one issue and impossible servicing set up. Fancy having to remove the body to replace the clutch. How stupid is that!! Our local LR mechanic is simply astounded at the inability of LR to learn from its mistakes and he's seeing the current crop of Rangies and Disco with serious problems already. Only the Evoke and Freelander appear to be reasonably reliable.

Give me some basic US muscle anyday - they use them here to tow triple axle trailers with fishing boats atop
