    Price per acre to rent for potatoes

    What is the rent price per acre that will go for spuds. the land has always been grassland?

    I wouldn't want it at any price,if it's been permanent grass wireworm will be a problem,cost way to much to grow to gamble.

    How much is mocap (wireworm killer) or any other brands? roughly what is the cost per acre for the land to rent?

    Going to cost 100 per acre for mocap and its no guarantee.

    People are paying up to 500/acre here for lay ground to be put into potatoes. (South Tyrone/Londonderry area)

    have heard of 400/ac for spud ground here and I don't think that was out of grass either (co down)

    200 is surely the average Mocap would be needed. that 300
    Then fleece needed for an early crop? How much would that be? another 300? No money to be made?

    locally 300-450 and some growers pay the same and grow for a second season (north derry)

    Hi all, offered 300 the other day for stubble after barley, didnt take it, that included a mound of soil round every hedgerow, field drain damage, soil structure damage and a pile of stones in every corner, theres a good reason why ground for spuds makes premium money.
