The green code is being upgraded with new guidelines and a new publication also new spray safety rules to be tightened in the new yr along with everyone applying pesticides needs cert. By 2015 , all equipment nsts tested by 2016 with sfp penalties from 2019 for non compliance in these areas,?

Was there any info on "Grandfather Rights" and wether we can get certification without bothering with the training days?

    Found this on NPTC site:

Certification of those with “grandfather rights”

City & Guilds is currently working with a range of stakeholders to investigate whether it might be possible for certificates to be issued on the basis of the experience and skills gained on the job by those who have relied on grandfather rights in the past, rather than requiring them to undertake full scale training and an assessment in order to obtain a certificate. The aim is to have the new system in place by 26 November 2013

Further guidance will be provided on this as soon as possible.

Apparently the course work is available for home study for those of us operating under Grandfathers Rights er, sorry, those of us with 40 years spraying experience - about £35 I believe. You then just pay for the actual test or tests. However with this option you are still restricted to doing your own work......which is fine with me. Have a look on thr NFU website!

I can see a lot , just reading a book at home , do a test and that's it?

It needs to be in the classroom ,envoirnment , as the discussions, and reasoning , and practical explanations, do even''teach old dogs'' new tricks ?
