Greening/weedy stubbles for spring croppping / DD Project

I've taken on a block of 50 hectares as a DD project.

The area was previously cropped with spring wheat.

The stubbles are fairly weedy: some grasses (including couch grass), thistles and a few other species I've not yet figured out.
One of the weeds has a nice tap root, and is providing some nice green cover.

Am I best leaving it all until spring - and hitting it all pretty hard with Glyphosate & other chemistry before DD sowing, Or, should I look to address the weeds sooner rather than later while they are still growing?

I mentioned Couch grass to an agronomist who suggested I get on with the glyphosate sooner rather than later.

My preference is to wait until the spring as any weed growth will be adding to the residual OM, and is essentially acting as a cover crop?!

I'm looking to plant spring beans next year.

If you have couch then get at it as soon as it has some decent leaf on it.
