has been hanging up over xmas for 4 weeks, picking her up tomorrow in boxes. Went very quiet in the end, felt almost sorry for her, but my loading plan didnt work as she knew something was up and would'nt go in the crush for her feed, so had to load her on my own but stayed out the pen, used a pressure washer at 4 am in the morning from the other side of the pen, till she gave up. Dont slate me it worked, had to do it somehow

Glad the 'beast from hell' is away. Should be maturing nicely.
Intrigued by your novel method of loading which I must try.
I had a mental beast a few years ago and loaded her by throwing stones at her until she got the message and went into the trailer. A bit scary jumping over the gate to shut the trailer door before she turned . Worst was running out of stones half way through.
All the best for 2014 stay safe.

I see a "top loading tips" thread coming on.
Well done - and with all the effort and stress involved every mouthful will be the best you have ever eaten.

Ask people that show cattle and some of them will tell you that a pressure washer is the 1st thing to quieten a beast down in preparation for showing. Done it myself before. My tastebuds are tingling at the thought of a sirloin! 😜😜

Re: Remember the killer cow from the spring

In the innocence of my youth, I kept pigs on free range. Got most of them in the trailer by laying a trail of pig nuts. All except the boar. I finally lost my temper and chased him around the field with the tractor (MF135). Every time he stopped, I shunted him in the backside. Eventually, he realised the only safe place to be was inside the trailer. Unloading him was another story. They still talk about it around here!
