You get a vet in the south to give you an export certificate. you then fill all the ear numbers onto an MC2 out of your own book permitting them into yourself and take the whole lot including the cattle passports into your local DVO.

Are export certs not issued by the marts in the south rather than vets?

A vet has to be there to certify that they are fit for export and transport. same for private sales in the south.

When do u want the heifers to calve? There won't be too many for sale that are due to calf at that time of year. Most will be spring or autumn. Do you intend buying only heifers? Heifers wont give top yields in their first lactation. It may be worth buying a few older cows that will milk well and help heifers settle into the system.

I have some heifers running with bull to calf next autumn and have arranged wth local well respected breeder for a choice of up to 25 second/ third calves once I'm up and goin. Still need more tho. It's a akward situation starting into milk along with a new set up cause have to coordinate cow arrival/calving heifers with startup.

Mostly 2nd and third Calvers. Sim cows have plenty of milk and rear good calves. Not sold for any fault but just leaving beef and going into milk.

He's off flying a starship across the universe devide!! And when he reaches the other side he'll find a place to rest his spirit if he can. Perhaps he may become a highwayman again or maybe he'll be a single drop of rain. But he will still remain and he'll be back again and again and again and again. 😄😄😄😄😄

Are you feeding them for show & sale or restricted diet for calving ease?

Have you started pre Calver minerals or have they been bolused?

    Any vaccinations?

    Re: Heifers in ni

They are not being fed for show. Bought in calf heifers before that had been fed up to look well in the ring and were nothing but bother. Cows for sale just as I would treat them for myself. On Ad-lib mix of 1st and 2nd cut with mineral dusted on top. No history of vaccinations as always been free of problems, tho generally would do with rotovec corona around now to cover the whole calving period.

5 luing cows in calf to char. Luing been used to breed replacements, previous years sim.

25 sim-luing cows, mostly in calf to char, some to par. Great cows, v under rated. Will produce excellent calves by the back end

10 lim and blondes in calf to char and parathanese.

Nothing is pampered here, if they don't behave they are hung up
