    Question needles of a bearing in hyd oil

    hey guys
    just did a clutch in my buddies landini powerfarm 95. we took out the hyd filter to change it and the oil and found needles of bearing and metal in the filter. any ideas??

    Obviously internal within the gearbox dude. Split job will be only way to reveal all

    Has he had it from new? Any work been done before? Needles could of been there long time. Have found much worst in filters!!! If it aint rummbling and running fine why create bother stripping it down!!!!

    Would be better to check out and sort it now at what could be a cheap and simple fix. However if you go by, "just keep running it" or "it'll get worse before it gets better" then bash on. You'll probably find then alot more damage and a huge repair bill when the worst does happen. Thats the whole point of servicing, to find these issues. Each to their own though

    but it might cost you 3k to full strip the box

    You could also strip the box down to the last bearing on the pinion shaft and find nothing wrong!!! Needles could of been leftover from when it was built!!!!

    is it possible the needles came in from an external source ? you could do a full strip down then find the swarf came from a failed bearing in a hyd motor or similar that had been powered by the tractor

    I know it's not good as it will always be on his mind when he uses it, but if every thing is running fine I would let it develop, might never happen, could run for years with no problems.

    There was a bearing done before. By the dealer.. We washed it out with diesel and oil twice. We found no. More... Fingers crossed a dodger dealer
