    £100,000 Bull

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...se-career.html

Ignore where the story comes from.....What do you think of the bull now?
Not really that impressed with him to look at.
Feet looked really suspect on Country file tother night.
Brit. Charolais EBV's are in the 70's for both terminal and self replacing.

Why do you want to ignore where the story comes from?

They have already made double what the bull cost on semen sales, good business IMO.

The old adage comes to mind 'no foot,no horse (or any other creature) but as has already been said it's been a good business decision on the part of the owners.

I thought it was not the brightest marketing idea to show your bull`s dodgy feet on primetime telly.

Did someone tell me the foot trimmer had bred the bulls mother ?

We had a son of Hofmeister. Most money we ever paid for a bull. Cheapest bull we ever bought!

Some would say the 100k price tag justifies the price of the semen.
    Others no doubt would disagree.
Part of the pedigree world. Good money to be made from semen sales, probably more than an animal can generate by natural reproduction.
    1000 straws @£25 = £25k.

It'll be very interesting to see if any of his progeny make it big. In the blues circle a few years ago, Dafydd d'ochain semen was being used like it was going out of fashion but I've not seen any of his sons or daughters that I would want.
Don't itch for something if you're not prepared to scratch for it.
