selectable 4 wheel drive on jcb handlers

As the title says I was wondering does the option of putting a loadall into 2 wheel drive on the concrete save on tyre wear or not ?

I could be shot down here but I have always run our elderly handler in 4ws and 4wd except on the road solo, then 2wd. I am not sure whether or not effective limited slip diffs would have a place in the equation? Most of our machine work is on hard surface but not concrete.

It makes little difference if its in 2wd or 2ws on the road as regards tyre wear. if you have even tyres all round then there is little to gain.

Limited slip diffs most JCBs as far as I know only have them on the front axles, manitous have them front and rear and perminant 4wd they don't seem to scrub tyres out any quicker that a JCB does.

If you have mixed makes of tyres or different tread depths than that will make then scrub out quicker. Bad track rod ends etc will not help, but most of it will be down to the driver on the seat.
