Checked chemical invoices this a.m. from two suppliers against quoted prices, both had errors with price too high, in one case by 23% . Both said they'd correct it when told about it. Obviously some accounts depts. are not keeping in touch with their reps .

When I ordered the glyphosate, one of the suppliers who'd quoted 85 had gone up to 90 "because there had been a run on it" . Slug pellets, I'm told are going up next month

Anyone used Certis Trigger pellets? Dont know if they are the same as Luxan Trigger but looks like it. Spray man says he has a good deal on them at around 950 a ton pay end Oct. I payed a grand a ton for three tons for Pesta last year.

Caught wind of some big rises in Chlorothalonil prices for this year. Just managed to secure some old stock from a supplier @ 47.85, I hear new price is likely to be in region of 70/10L. Might pay to get some in if you know of any in store

Big Dons, I think that we will have to wait a bit to see what the and Euro do in the coming weeks. IMHO very unlikely to come down in price.

I was given the offer yesterday 184 pay december. But did a bit of digging around and found an online amenity weed control company offering Roundup Energy (same as Ace) at 168 + vat. Its pay now but at 10% cheaper, better than money in the bank!! Called there enquiry line and was told they would waive the carriage if I ordered 5 cans or more. Have a look at www.progreen.co.uk under the total weedkiller tab.

Still expensive compared to generic glyhposate.
Roundup Energy at the above price is approx. 19p/g of glyphosate
Generic e.g. Clinic Ace is 13p/g of glyphosate.

It's not just the pence per gram. Roundup Ace/Energy is a "fully wetted" formulation and has a low rate of 1.2lt/ha for annual grasses and BLWs. I find I need at least 2lt/ha of a 360 gram to get similar performance. Depending what you are paying for generic, the two prices are very similar. I would favour the Monsanto route over a generic.

The label still recommends a conditioner in hard water areas.

Is that for wild oat control 7740? We will be patching the odd bit of oats either straight behind the T1 (end of next week) or very early after depending on what the agronomist reckons.

Normally use Traxos though, which is a mix of the pinoxaden in Axial and clodinafop in Topik, along with a wetter. The oats have just about popped up over the wheat now, and I have decided that there are about 8ac that are going to be too thick to rogue.

No idea on the price yet.

Dont know how tough your BG is, but I wouldnt rely on either of those sprays to take that out. But if its only patches, then you can always go pull out what remains.
