And you think you've got wild cattle!

Don't itch for something if you're not prepared to scratch for it.

Holy sh*t that NZ one takes some beating! At least they found someone who applied his brains (as well as a lot of bravery) to the situation!

I watched that and thought they were absolute nutters but you're right, they thought about what needed doing, working with the cattle rather than against them (mostly). Still need a few loose screws to go in against bulls like that on foot in rough terrain.

Fantastic. The reckless part of me (thankfully a small part) would love to spend a month with that guy. The rest of me says wise the heck up. Don't like the way he is missing quite a few teeth. I like mine in my head. Still, you have to love that bloke. He has some guts, and just knows how cattle move. Reminds me a bit on what my Dad taught me about them - get into the animal's head, so that you know where it is going before it does, and you are a step in front. He bought and sold all kinds of cattle throughout the country when he was younger, back in the days when cattle weren't as settled as what we have now.

Hypothetical. Would there not perhaps be some situations there where he could entice the bull onto a more accessible area, then dart the frigger and roll him onto a big tractor linkbox? Lets be honest, in this day and age, that kind of confrontation with cattle really isn't on.

Great stuff. would be fantastic to sent the farm assurance inspector out with those guys for a few days.

all these men to lift one gate, dear me, I had to build a 7 hurdle pen on my own the other day , plus field gates tied to the top , could have done with one of these to give me a hand

watched the bull mustering video and thought , well yes he is doing a good job and it looks risky, but he is always working with plenty of help and if a bull is distracted when he turns either by a dog or someone else he is likely to change his attack. same with the clowns with rodeo riders and matadors . the real danger with a bull is being on your own which must happen quite frequently here.
