    engine oil level tef20

Been back at the museum to go over their tractor. It's holding together well despite the fact they keep stuffing it into ditches!

Engine oil wasn't showing on dipstick but oil pressure was ok. I topped up to middle line on dipstick, took about 3.5 litres.

Oil pressure now very high and a serious drip from underneath at drain hole between engine and gearbox.

I'm starting to wonder if correct dipstick in the hole but I'm unfamiliar with Fergie range. They need a way to check oil level before use but the high pressure and drip concerning me.

    Ta,
    Dave

Hi what are you calling high pressure? How many psi? The drip is coming from the rear crank shaft seal hence why your oil was low. Not sure but I think it probably takes around 6l of oil

    Cheers RS,

Oil pressure gauge hard right and stays there. No psi reading.

Oil pressure is around 40-60 lb/sq. in (2.8-4.2 kg/sq. cm

We used to hang a tin under which would catch the oil, when we were making hay...!
