    drying woodchip on hardwood grain dryer floor.

    Would drying pine woodchip on harwood floor damage the hardwood and vents?

    I think as long as you are drying good quality chip with no fines, I see no reason why it would damage the floor. Would it make economic sense?, probably not if you are going to be using oil/diesel as the fuel for the dryer. If you are using biomass as a fuel, then you could claim the rhi and it would become a viable operation.

    It makes perfect sense if your getting the RHI , if you dry wood chip from 30% to 20% you will use 25% less chip as it burns much more efficiently , I'm just about to start drying mine
