    Good write-up http://www.thejournal.co.uk/business...l-sale-7313338

John Kemp, a farmer’s son who was born and brought up in the North East, said: “I started out doing small building jobs for local people, and when I got sick of digging, I bought a digger.”

Within three years he had six, and by year 10 owned 80 different machines, eventually growing the company into one of the largest contracting and machinery plant hire businesses in the area, with a large agricultural division.
Having recently made the decision to reduce his workload, much of the agricultural machinery owned by the business is included in the sale.

I've been today whilst on holiday. Anyone else from BFF go? Very interesting sale. Big JD Quadtrac didn't quite make it's money though.

Was bid to £86,000. The 660hrs seemed very genuine to me. There wasn't a mark on it, no worse than new condition from what I could see.

    Was it unsold?
£86,000 for a 12 yr old tractor sounds good.

Unsold, the guy wanted £100k apparently !!! Better off buying a s/h proper quadtrack at that money IMO. Don't know what the guy is going to do with it now, as he has let all his land off. Combine unsold as well. Pretty good sale despite those 2 big items not selling. 1100 lots all sold by 2.45pm.

The big lad is a good auctioneer.

Apparently the yooowdge building the sale was in is going to have collective sales in it in the future.
