Re: BBC COUNTRYFILE POLL ON SHOOTING

"What do you think Ė overall, does the shooting industry do more good than harm to Britain's wildlife? "

I've changed my opinion on this: maybe its far better that the BBC has grasped the nettle and spoken about the benefits of a 'sport' that normally hides from the public eye. Clearly their are massive benefits in land not farmed conventionally but for game, from the small arable field corners to the massive highland estates.

Not that I'm defending corporate shooting estate clients who pay to shoot easy fat birds that think its feeding time, but thats a paradox for another thread.

    Voted.

Can see the economic benefits from the industry, even if the truth remains i cant stand some of the types who come here to shoot - or the arrogant attitudes of the gamekeepers i have to deal with (not even employed by the estate im on). If only i wasn't a tenant.......
If in doubt, yank it out!

Can we include shooting opportunistic thieves ("Lay you a nice bit of tarmac for cash, Gov) amongst Wildlife?
If so, then I vote for no harm

    Another poll

do you believe that gassing badgers is the most humane and effective way to carry out a cull

Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.
