    rusty beams

What do you use for barn beams that have lost powder coat?

Hammerite is good but very expensive 5l at 60 pounds.

Is there a cheaper paint that will work as well ?

Ask a trade paint supplier for a price on Micaceous Iron Oxide anti corrosive paint. Its a bit cheaper than Hammerite at about 35 for 5 litres.

Also known around here as 'pylon paint'. Be careful though it has an expiry date beyond which National Grid have to dispose of it and obviously it's completely useless after this date.
