The answer to both these threads is that a Zetor System Spreader will do the job well for a good few seasons if you look after it.

You can spend a lot more if you really want to.

something with a good door, a few years back someone spread some on the fields to the side of the road as you drove into one of the farms, you could see the striping where the doors leaked and they couldn't hold it back as they spread. The burn marks took 3 years to nearly be invisible!

I would recommend anything with a spinner deck to give an even spread, a slurry door to graduate flow onto the rotors and spinners.
We use Ktwo Bio's & Trio's both have horizontal rotors shredding the material against a rear cover which then forces the material on to the spinner deck.

Ive been using a SAMSON for years and swear by it. for chicken muck probably best to have a spreader with a rear spreading cover and and spreading discs, so the beaters throw it on to the cover then drops down on to the discs . As FF said get it wrong especially on grass land can be hard work for years

Rolland spreaders are okish, but not a patch on a Bunning in my book. Go and compare a well used Rolland and a well used Bunning and you will soon see where the differences lie.

Samson would be the kiddie but they aren't cheap from what I understand!

Whatever you do you will want a spreader with the spinning disc deck really. Plain rear discharge spreaders, in good working order with reasonable beaters and a good door (and careful operator) will do a reasonable job, but the disc deck is the one to have.
