Potato planting in furrow Amistar treatment effectivemess

    Hello,

How effective has the use of Amistar in furrow treatment for potatoes been for yields and overall plant health? My neighbour swears by it, although my previous experience showed negligible gains.

    Thanks in advance.

I don't know much about spuds at all, however as I understood it, Amistar was mostly to give improve tuber quality and skin finish rather than much else, although judging by the way Syngenta bang on about it, you would think it was a cure all for nearly every agronomic problem known to man.

We use it in furrow, principly as defense against soil borne Rhizoctonia. Some years it seems to work really well, some years less so. Its been severely tested in this years cold conditions, particularly where we've used unchitted seed, so we need to look at a strategy of rates v's soil temps i think. Been using 1.5lt/ha
