    Tupping gimmer lambs

    With price of lambs dropping and ewes being worth more as culls (up to this week) Thinking of keeping most of my gimmer lambs texels out of Mules and texels Question is do I tup them as lambs and kill empties in Jan/Feb time after scanning or Let the grow and wait/waste a year waiting for them as shearlings

    Tup the biggest anyway. Depends on size, I'd say.
    Don't itch for something if you're not prepared to scratch for it.

    A surprisingly good trade on ewe lambs this ,seem to be at least 10 over fat prices .

    No point getting into yet another which breed debate ,all I would say is go for a narrow wedge shaped shoulder sire, and tup the ones that are at least 60% of the expected adult weight, there is a lot to be said for having a closed flock at the end of the day.
    Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.
