    Haven't flown across over the central grain belt- only the lower 1/3 of the country but its amazing how may of those centre pivot irrigaters you see in some areas.

    Why start that way? If you notice on the first pass, none of the machines have to deal with dust. On the return run, they all deal with dust, but from their own machine only. when they do the second pass staggered, the only machines which have to deal with dust are the tractors off-loading the grain and hauling it to the trucks.

    less dust would make it easier on equipment and operators.
