    Short back and sides sir?

New trimmer arrived today- been attached by the supplying dealer, just a few changes to get things how we want them (mainly the control box/lever)

Its a TP600LPLH 1.2m head, cable flail control and LP hyd joystick with button for head tilt, angling, boom float and parallel float. For some reason the orbital head option is to follow (allows you to roll the head so the flail rotor rises/lowers in relation to the roller)

    replaces a McConnell PA93 Ti

Been waiting for this optional extra to arrive

Its sold as an option for cutting very narrow lanes by its action of rolling the upwards so you can have the arm cast back a bit and still present the head to what wants cutting. We had it as it also works as a way of putting the roller down for verge cutting with the arm in float and still being able to bring the head back down so the flails are lower than the roller for hedges.

Driver for the local council was killed in exactly that way a couple of years ago. Pierced his heart from behind.

Also mind your cab roof. Ours will hit it when folded up behind.

Thanks for the cautions, the opps/parts book that came with it does point out that when using it in some positions there is the need to drop the front hood. Seems its a McConnell device by the look of the back pages!

The rotor looks remarkably like whats on my McConnel . Flails more like what was on my old Spearhead. Nothing like them all (Bomford, Spearhead, McConnel, Twose, Rousseau) being owned by the same parent company.

Took a Spearhead rotor back to the AMS (Alamo Manufacturing Services) factory in Evesham in 2011 to get rebalanced and took a couple of pics while I was there.

Red stuff Twose, green and black Spearhead and yellow and blue Bomford.

I bet with that FF you'll be making a good clean job of it like they've done near me.
Looking out for the next holiday.

Not guilty. It wasn't me. Honest. Though I have been accused of the crime down the pub.
I have seen people stopped taking photos. Just like I did.
Looking out for the next holiday.

Expect when I get back it'll long been off- have to remember to check it for next time then. The control box/handle is going to get modified before next season. It needs to lift up for easier access in and out of the cab and the rotor direction control lever needs putting the other side of the cab out of the way.
