Advertising in farming press, does anyone look at the classifieds?

Just wanted to get an idea of whether people pay much attention to adverts in the farming press. Assuming it's a small add not a whole page job. They're not silly money but I know personally I just skim past!

I glance at the ads but really study them when I am looking for something in particular.

I agree with Barney and I'm also more likely to check the small ads first.

I only really read/give consideration to the ones with a price. POA gets ignored.

Exactly. If it says POA I assume it is obviously over-priced.

PS. I've also moved this thread from Livestock to Agriculture. A lot of narrow minded folk never look at Livestock

I agree with T P - I like looking over the ads even though I can't afford them - but I tend to ignore POAs

Only I am looking for something specific I need to buy.
Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.

Same here too. I really enjoy looking through the machinery ads but as TP said, POA's are kicked into touch.
Don't itch for something if you're not prepared to scratch for it.

From recent experience (if you are a seller).........forget paying 200 for a small ad in the Farmers Weekly and stick it on EBay. Far greater response and much more interest.
But I still didn't manage to sell my old Self Propelled Sprayer.

Agree with what others say. If the price is listed as P.O.A then that's the end of looking at that listing and onto the next.

    The Sprayer is still available........P.O.A.
Looking out for the next holiday.
