    Veg in the shade

    Aye-up,

hope the mods don't mind, but this is a garden question!

Will our spuds do OK in the front of our house this year, bearing in mind that it is in shade all day long? We can't put them out the back in full sun because they have been grown on all of it in the last two years.

Carrots did well out there last year, but the pumpkins were only the size of a grapefruit.

If they won't thrive, what will?

    Cheers, Pete

    IT'S RAINING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's plenty now. Need to get on.

They will probably be ok but yield will be down. Shade is better than tree roots sapping the nutrients. Just put plenty of fym and keep moist.
