Sorry if you cannot pics, 1st time I've put pics on the forum so I don't know.
Pete, I don't know what the website says about power but I drill with a mf 362 4x4 and is right on the limit of what she'll lift. Pulls it without any problem.

Grass was drilled into an old stand of grass but was first sub soiled to 21'' with an ordinary subsoiler but the leg was tipped right back so not to be aggressive and done wheel on wheel and then pressed down by driving the tractor over the 'humps'. Tried this field before but with no luck. It seems that a lot of the fields have a compaction problem.
Will try and get pic. of a field subsoiled the same way.

No I didn't kill the old sward, the field just would not perform. We dug a hole and looked at the compaction,( the drains were running ok) subsoiled it and then went in with an Aitchison grassfarmer drill. Field is performing well now, travels well growing well.
Yes it's the same field as on the westerwold thread. Previousley had Italien.

    Re: DDing grass and cereals

I will try and upload some pics later today of my DD grass, but in short its worked very well. If we took the autumn of 2011 very dry and 2012 not quite so dry!!! we must have done something like 800 acres and not had to redrill any. It was all short term IRG sprayed off and then drilled again with IRG. This year it was small over winter but all survived and looks well.
