    Portable air compressor

We have a new compressor......2.5hp....100ltr tank kind of thing.
    What is the inspection requirements?
I believe there is a tank size that once exceeds means that it falls into the regular professional inspection. PUWER......LOLER type of thing.
Despite plenty of googling not found it on writing yet.

Yep and most of it is as clear as...........hoping to get the yes no answer.
But further research seems to say 150 psi or greater and a tank diameter greater than 12 inches.
Compressor ticks the box for both of these.

This is the basics and portable stuff falls into the net:

but you will need to google the other documents mentioned within it to get the exact data. The easiest option is to find the local outfit that does the inspections and gives you the relevant wee bit of paper which is what you need to cover yourself. With a brand new CE marked compressor you should be safe enough for a while. At least you can take it to them if need be rather than have to get them on site. I'm surprised anybody wants to be an employer these days. A lot of the budget compressors are manufactured to the minimum wall thickness and when there's any internal rust at all the certifiers want a new tank which usually works out as new compressor. I have a 300bar breathing quality compressor and several dive cylinders_ dry your eyes you want to try paying for getting them tested? If the tester takes a dislike to the tanks he cuts them in half with a saw and still charges for the test..

    Re: Portable air compressor

Beginning to think, buy compressor, run it for new period year or two, then pop it in local collective machinery sale and buy a new one.
Not really a huge amount of money, and a well looked after couple of years old one should sell well.
