    135 bonnet

    Hi am buying a new complete bonnet and grill for my 135 and was wondering what’s the difference between the 13 and 14 inch grill mine in a straight axel am i right in thinking mine is a 14 inch

    Was idly looking at the front of the MF148 this morning (when I should have been working ), and wondered if the height (length) of the removable front panel was 14". It is. Then I measured the length of the MF135 panel. It's a couple of tads less than 13". The 135 is now a straight axle, (originally had the swept axle), but I suspect the extra height was added to the 148 to accommodate a bigger fuel tank. Maybe someone else could confirm or otherwise.

    Swept axle 135s had 13'' grilles and straight axle models used 14''. The straight axle models had an increased fuel tank too.....

    I have a early straight axle 135 with 13" grill.

    That's interesting. I wonder if it is a mixture of straight axle (all the swept axles having been used) and the small tank & bonnet which were still in stock.
