    sheepdog lacks confidence

i have a two year old border collie that struggles to push sheep into the pen for me, backs off if sheep stand up to him, will fetch sheep in and do everything else fine, anyone know if a dog this age can be improved or is he too old?

Some are harder than others. What were the parents like? You can have a dog with a lot of style but lacking boldness.

would having another, more assertive, dog show (teach?) him how to "git-er dun" help or hinder?

"fido git-em in" "fido git-em in"

"sookiey git-em in" "sookiey git-em in"

In my experience, I doubt it. They either have it or they don't.
