    14 kg lamb

    lambed a mule ewe this aft to the suffolk, after a lot of persuasion it finally came out and it was a MONSTER so i decided to weigh it and came out at 14kg, ive never ever seen a lamb so big, must be nearly a record haha

    I think that is a record....

    I had one at 9.5 kgs a few years back and checked it out to find he was only a kilo or so off the record (think it was around 10.5 kgs) so you must have it. Remember to weigh him dry though as the birth fluids will be pretty heavy

    One of my old ewes had quads last year, although they were all pulled out dead, and the four of them together (as born) came in at nearly 20kg.... The poor ewe took a while to recover from that...

    I had the opposite many years ago, a ewe had quads all alive with a total weight of just over 4kg. The lightest lamb was 900g.

    Had a 10.5kg lleyn lamb out of a texel x mule gimmer 2 years ago. Had to lamb it but was actually pretty easy to get out! Big brute was up and sooking in 10 mins

    Biggest is believed to be 10.75kg. A lamb which was born earlier this year, and was called Hulk:

    It beats mine at 28lb, unfortunately it was dead by the time we got it out of the TEG That would have been wet when weighed too.

    Well done, hell of a lamb!! Hows mum; on her feet?? Were they scanned? was ewe a noticibly greedy s*d?

    thanks. ye all scanned, looked as tho she was having two, not supirsed really but when i pulled it out there was no way she was having another haha. not really just same as other ewes. was up as soon as lamb came out .

    Well we had a welsh mountain ewe that produced 12kg of lamb at birth last year - three at 4kg each.

    lambed by my wee cousin on the second of April, she was rather surprised by these twins. The rather large twin came in at 26.5lb

    He's a cracker, will be interested in his growth rates toward usual sizes

    maybe not 400 coming out this size haha. will be away to market in a couple of weeks as a spring lamb

    thanks took some getting but everything went ok.
    we bought a new suffolk ram lamb this time and most of his lambs have been alot bigger than the others born the the texel and charollais.
