Hi all, I'm new to many things recently, the most recent being your forum.
I am a new dairy goat farmer although myself and my partner have been farming sheep, cattle and pigs for a while.
I decided to get some goats as something I could take charge of myself (rather than getting all the s**t jobs with the other animals. )
It started out as a bit of fun and has grown into a business opportunity. I am currently on a very steep learning curve whilst setting up my business to sell raw goats milk. I have thought about bottling it myself or going BIG and selling to a large producer. Neither of which feels right for me... However this is all still hypothetical as my 16 nanny goats have not yet kidded. In fact I won't find out who is actually in kid until this Sunday.
It will be at least March before any new arrivals make an appearance. Right now all my time is being taken up trying to get my head around the legislation regarding selling raw goats milk and the whole testing goats/food/milk stuff 😣.
I am looking to see how much interest there would be to buy the milk once it is produced?
We are in Bala, Gwynedd. North Wales. Does anyone know a friend who makes soap or cheese that is looking for raw goats milk?? Or needs it for lambs/calves/abandoned kittens??
Please feel free to get in touch.
Thanks for taking the time to read through my ramblings...
Liz ☺
