Lightbulb Slurry - An asset not a problem

An innovative project called Prosiectslyriproject is underway in Wales to address the agricultural industry's impact on the environment by developing a dewatering and purification system to manage farm slurry. The system will separate, filter and clean slurry, transforming it into nutrient rich spreadable solids and water of a suitable quality for discharging to a watercourse or recycling on farm. The project is a collaboration between Coleg Sir Gār (Gelli Aur College Farm) and Power & Water (Swansea based water treatment company). The project is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and will be fully up and running soon. If you would like more information please email prosiectslyriproject@colegsirgar.ac.uk Take a look at our animated video of the process https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kq_I7Gcq-2w

Thank you to everyone who visited us on our stand at The Dairy Tech Event on 7th Feb if you haven't already please follow our progress on https://www.facebook.com/prosiectslyriproject our website will be available soon.

Hmmm, all you need now is to ensure that you have some farmers left actually farming in a meaningful way, post Brexit.

How much is the funding in total?

Hi Gee The funding is to set up & get the system working over 3 years so that it can be rolled out for farmers to buy. However there may be other grant funding available in the future for farmers to install this ground-breaking, environmentally friendly technology when it has been proven to work which is what we plan to do over the next 2 years.

Yep ....what is the total amount of funding that has been collected / promised?
Not the possibly available in the future, the cash up front that is being used now.
The news this morning that US dairy products will be on their way here after a trade deal with the US will provide a more total solution for any slurry problems.

I think if the remoaners keep on spreading doom and disaster, the pound will continue to fall. This is exactly what we we want Chinese fashion, because it will mean fewer imports and an expanding domestic industry.
