    RTK rent

If i rent a signal from a nearby farmer, will that rent be per machine or just a flat rate per farm?

Probably depends greatly on your neighbour.

I charge 1000 a yr for the code, how often you use it is up to you.

Was asked 500 per annum for an RTK signal, thought that reasonable for a radio based signal.

Thanks. Do you need line of sight all the time? Can't see us going RTK in the near future but as/when it became more mainstream I think i've a pretty good location for a mast.

    Re: RTK rent

RTK Farming charge 500 a year and with that you can roam the network (most of east Anglia soon). In Reality, you can work up to around 15-20km away depending on the terrain etc... For each km past 15k, you lose 1mm of accuracy. You also run the risk of the system going into "RTK Float".
Considering that as recently as 18months ago RTK was priced at 1000, it's now inexpensive in the grand scheme of things.

Do the units transmit a signal/code that the RTK providers unlock to allow usage?
If not (apart from it being theft ) what is stopping folks getting the code off their mates and using it
