    Renault 106-54TL

    Hi can any one tell me wheather a Renault 106-54TL is 30K of 40K gearbox?

    Also what are they like?

    They can be either. Uncle had a W plate 40k one, I had a k plate 30k one, was a good old bus could really pull was a bit unlucky with the engine on mine, cracked a liner and needed an injector pump.

    Steering lock was dire but newer ones were alot better. Very simple to work on sold mine after I sorted the injector pump, wasn't getting enough work and I didn't want another repair bill.

    Still got a 90-34 TL witha tb turbo. Good wee tractor, fine for a few hundred hours a year.

    I drove one years ago, it wasn't too bad

    I remember that you have to make sure you don't accidentally leave the PTO clutch in as it soon burns them out

    i THINK the tx is the nicer, taller cab, tl low profile

    The TL cab on the 106 is the same to look at as the TX on the 110-54 right up to the 180. 106-54 is a good tractor spent years on one with a umbilical splash plate. It did 15000 hours 2 clutches and 2 sets of tyres.

    you mean the hande brake type pull up clutch ??? if so
    wares out the thrust bearing to be correct not the clutch

    dont you need three arms to change a range on a hill? Last on I was in was just levers everywhere.

    I was told the L stood for lightweight because the 106 was lightweight compared to the 110 no diffenrence in the cab TS was to the TX
