    alternative to balers choice

    anybody used anything else insted of bc just been looking at some biotal biohay does it do the same job fair bit cheaper than bc

    We use biotal solomaze when baling straw that is maybe a bit too green/damp or got grass in it.
    Only used to prevent mould and heating. Definitely an advantage in a wet harvest and appears to work.
    Never used anything on hay as haven't baled any in about 15 years.

    There was a thread on here a while ago and there is a chemical company up in cheshire but cant for the life of me remember the name

    Be careful with additive as it has its limitations I don't know how high you can push it but I do know of a lot of burnt out sheds who pushed it to high, just take care

    I have an Idea that if its to wet the acid breaks down after a few months and starts heating same as propcorn would, you would need to up the rate to hold it

    have used balers choice for the past 5 years but and happy with the product but not the price or pushy sales have ordered some biohay this time to see how it goes

    bumping this up....links no longer work...balers choice in to bigger packs.....can you use just dilute citric acid?
