is anyone using a FM1000 controlller to carry out variable rate operations with Amazone and/or Vaderstad equipment or know if they are compatible?
Cheers

Something for the dealers really and them knowing what you are trying to hook up. However the FMx 1000 is Trimble's top of the range device, so I'd be very surprised if it doesn't work with most things out there.
There is definitely an Amazon option on the FMX/FM1000 for serial rate control.
There's also a Vaderstad option on my FMx 750, so assume the same for the 1000.
Going to use a 750 for variable rate P+K with an Amazone, you shouldn't have an issue.
The FMX will run a shape file to send a variable rate file to a vaddy drill, did it all last season.
Only thing to watch for is to make sure the FMX has the latest software upgrade that was released in June 2012, this stops it sending a zero seed rate to the drill. Which it would do if you crossed areas it already determined as drilled, made doing the last time round the headland fun.
I have been using an FM1000 for variable rate control on an Amazone spreader and a Vaddy drill this season. They work very well together.
TM when you upgraded your FMX to the latest software did you have to upgrade your NAV II controller at the same timeThe FMX will run a shape file to send a variable rate file to a vaddy drill, did it all last season.
