New Zealand to slaughter 150,000 cows

Just noticed this in the news "on this side of the pond"

    http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/new-zea...irus-1.4680429

Can anyone provide more info? What is going to be the impact to the farmer? the economy? food prices?

Interesting, but how is this going to impact the consumer who is trying to buy a decreasing quantity of products? how much more will milk or cheese or . . . cost at the store?

the taxpayer who has to fund the subsidies - how much will their taxes raise to fund this?

So they're saying the increased price of produce will offset the reduced production (for farmers). Those that lose all their stock won't have anything to sell no matter how much it's worth.

    It’s called “Pollie-Nomics”.
    Derived from the words...Politicians......and .....Economics.
Pretty well the Pollies need to do something and the other provides a cloak to conceal the dagger!
But all in all a bitter pill that needs swallowing.
