Hi all, we have a small holding in South Wales and keep our horses and a few sheep at home. Land is partly clay, on a small slope and the mud can get very deep and sticky in the winter especially if it's like last winter. Previously we've put round bales out every 5 days or so towing behind the quad but we really struggled last winter with the mud so decided to change the quad for a tractor.

Issue is we know nothing about tractors, what is good or bad etc so hoping for some advice about what to look for. Appreciate for 3500 we'll be looking at something ancient and not pretty but as long as it does the job we're not bothered about cosmetics. All it needs to do is carry 1 round bale through the mud and dump it in the ring feeder. Ideally a compact tractor if we can so it can live in the barn in the dry.
